I just tipped my foot in the gutter called talk radio, namely Rush, just to hear for few minutes how he was spinning the gigantic defeat his ilk and Trump suffered last night. Boy, was he spinning. He and his deluded listeners must definitely live on another planet.
Some of his excuses are here and they are really laughable at best:
-Healthcare was the number one issue for voters per exit polling, so voters must have been angry at Republicans for not repealing Obamacare --so they VOTED DEMOCRAT to show their anger <----what a twisted logic right there
--Trump didn't win Virginia during the election anyway, so what
--Trump's policies are responsible for the great economy and people love him ---Disregard the 33% approval rating (Hey Rush, what Trump policy???? Obama's policies are still creating jobs and Trump hasn't done a damn thing policy wise to get credit for it !
So the jest of Rush's bullshit basically is that people love the Donald so much that they went out in force and voted for Democrats.
And you will have to be a Rush listner (believer) = (a certified moron) to accept that logic.

(6,023 posts)I was subjected to Faux at lunch and they had the same stupid argument about failure to repeal Obamacare. However, even MSNBC and CNN had failed to connect the dots on healthcare being so important vote-wise because Republicans were trying to screw constituents as hard as possible, with the most cynical and downright cruel health plan possible. THIS is why they (the voters) voted how they did on healthcare.

(82,849 posts)Gillespie lost by 9% in 2017. How weird is it, Rush, that after a year of up-close-and-personal presidenting by Donald J. Trump, his party has slipped even further in the polls? Also, the Virginia House of Delegates was 66-34 Republican on Monday. Today, it's 49-47 in favor of Democrats, with four races yet to be called. Republicans have to win each and every one of those too-close-to-call races just to hang on to a bare majority.
Maybe people don't love Trump or his policies, Rush. Ever think of that?

(182,934 posts)I've read that several times over the years. People wanting to get into the voiceover business can add it on their resume but it doesn't actually say his show - it lists a booking agency I think. Notice how clear the calls are. Most actual call ins can have any degree of connection. Also these "first time" callers are remarkably calm and prepared. I've called into to talk radio (local) and it took a few times to feel comfortable and know how long I had before I got interrupted or cut off.
They all just happen to have or support that days string of nonsense coming out of his mouth.
Example - when that jerk in Montana body slammed the reporter Rush said, "Let's see if we can get some callers from Montana". Wouldn't you know it the first FIVE callers were all from Montana.
Thanks for listening in. I take one for the team pretty often just to see what BS is coming down the pike.

(21,755 posts)Let's hope that they never figure out that people just don't like their policies.
As long as they think people do like them, they will keep pushing them and lose.
Once they realize the truth, they will just lie about their "new" positions.
