Republican strategist Steve Schmidt questioned Vice President Mike Pences patriotism in a stunning segment on MSNBCs Morning Joe.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski pointed out that Pence had been asked repeatedly before and after the election about the Trump campaigns contacts with Russia, and the vice presidents denials were always proven wrong.
At what point is it un-American when youre asked questions and questions and questions about something obviously curious thats going on that pertains to Russian meddling, and you are willfully clueless? Brzezinski said.
Schmidt said he doesnt understand why Pence seems to escape scrutiny in the Trump administration.
We dont talk enough about the vice presidents nonstop lying, Schmidt said.

(5,106 posts)and appear often on TV. Only a very few have actually left the entire Republican party so far. Schmidt has been vocally critical of the direction the party has been headed for a while longer. His dealings with with Sarah Palin notably turned him toward "the light." He was in the same Republican line of work as Kellyanne Conway, but was always much more reasonable and intellectual. It will be interesting in what direction he and other reasonable Repubs will go, once we're rid of Trump (and hopefully Pence).

Given Rump's reluctance, wouldn't be at all surprised if they used him to add his persuasion to the family's though.

(58,785 posts)lesser but still huge dark-money powers. The Kochtopus alone could retire both McConnell and Ryan almost at will. Look at the almost suicidal behaviors of congress right now--they're being told to produce huge flows of national wealth to people who are clearly willing to lose a fair number of them in 2018. They'll just run their replacements in the primary.
Cheeto wasn't the Koch's choice, but they've used his pathological incompetence to make some very good lemonade out of him. His appointments are almost all their agents. But, 2018 is coming up and most of the trumpsters will still vote for him and turn on his enemies. Nothing simple about the strategies they're working on.

Trump truly believes it too but for different reasons.
Pence would ACTUALLY bring us Handmaids Tale or whatever that book is called. Women need to leave the country if they want to be safe if he gets in power, gays need to leave, leave or become criminals for existing.
To be safe, all non white str8t xtian males need to get passports because soon your life will not be safe or valued here.

What are we going to do about all of this?
Sorry, you don't have to answer. I have outrage fatigue because every damn day, it's the same, "this administration is awful."
I need a plan.

(44,182 posts)The current plan is to continue to fight the agenda in congress by defeating Trump legislation, with the help of the few sane Republicans. The plan is to win special elections so there are more Dems in congress. The plan is for our Dems to continue to educate voters about what Dems have to offer while also sounding the warning about Trump.
At this point only Mueller has any real power to deal w Trump. Republicans have power but they want to protect Trump.
If come out and vote in 2018 and elect more democrats that will change.

I'm doing everything I can to help get some Dems elected here in AZ. I hope we can turn this state purple because there are a lot of Dems in southern AZ but Phoenix is full of Trumpers. ugh. Not 99 percent of the time, not 99.9 percent of the time 100% of the time.

Pence though of course is probably up to his neck in the whole Russian thing but proving it will be difficult as long as the focus remains on Donald.
