Moore adviser: Not even Trump could get Moore to drop Senate bid

An adviser to Roy Moore said the GOP candidate doesn't plan to let anything force him out of the Alabama Senate race.

Senior campaign adviser Brett Doster was asked if Moore would leave the race if he was asked by President Trump.

"No. Nothing is getting him out. He's not going anywhere," Doster said, according to ABC News.

The comments come after a woman accused Moore of initiating sexual contact with her in 1979 when she was 14 and he was 32, according to a report in The Washington Post.

Moore has repeatedly denied the accusations, saying they are "completely false" and suggesting it is a smear campaign.

Since the allegations, multiple lawmakers have called for Moore to step aside if the reports are true.

During an event Sunday night, Moore said he does not plan to leave the race.

"We do not intend to let the Democrats, we do not intend to let the established Republicans, we do not intend to let anybody deter us from finishing this race," Moore said during the event in Alabama.

That way, they could motivate more people to show up and pull the R lever, rationalizing that they were actually voting for a less repugnant senator that would be appointed by the governor. Then the Senate could renege, because Republicans.

I've seen this floating around out there, so it's not original with me.

On edit: Josh Marshall has a excellent article on why this is a stinkin' bad idea.

So,

It comes down to this:

He wins - Pugs are "maybe" happy, maybe gonna' throw him out of the Senate.

He loses - he has NO lifeline of support, especially if IQ45 does somehow "hint" that he should step aside (which I do NOT expect - birds of a feather.............).

And if he does win, really, what does that say about our country?

No pretty options, but then again, what can be pretty when someone like this actually gets nominated and supported for such an important position?

I ache for what America has become.................
