is all of the people in this country that buy his bullshit.

I'm not saying anything that hasn't been said a million times before, but this issue came to the forefront again as I watched his speech a few moments ago.
I REALLY don't understand how supposedly semi-intelligent people buy his shit. He doesn't know what the fuck he is talking about on any subject. He acts like the dumbest fucker on the planet. I know some real weirdos, some ordinary Janes and Joes, and some complete douchebags that would all be a better president.
So, I guess 35% of our citizenry has been permanently dumbed down simply because Trump repeats his horseshit over and over and over and over.
Huh.

(11,804 posts)I think it's more that they are willing to believe anything that aligns with their worldview. There has always been some people who feel like this, but it's worse in Republican camps because they don't have any faith in any authority that isn't telling them what they want to hear. Scientists can tell everyone that there is such a thing as global warning and it doesn't move the needle; but they will believe and support a scientist who tells them isn't happening. The news can reveal huge crimes on behalf of a Republican President and the response is that the press is just making it up.
I don't know how to combat this.
