Watch. The Conyers "investigation" will move at light speed. Franken's will be SLOOOOOW.

Conyers has resigned his committee seats and is likely to simply take a very low key role for the rest of this, his last term in Congress. The "investigation" into his accusations has a sell-by date. The GOPee will make the best of whatever they can regarding his activities.

With Franken, the opposite is true. His was a hit job based on VERY thin evidence and on charges made spectacularly by a right wing fuckwad activist by the name of Leeann Tweeden. A few more anonymous allegations followed that. The best course of action for the GOPee to make the most of this is to simply let Franken swing in the breeze for as long as possible. Maybe they drip a few more cloudy accusations. Maybe the put Tweeden on a Victim Tour.

Remember, Franken ASKED for the investigation. That alone is good reason for the GOPee to slow walk it.
