Weighing the fact that attacks raise many people's defences, the top may encourage those who are conflicted to stay home.

Really can't say. Not sure there is a reliable way to prove the question.

Seriously I was going to post about how Moore has soaked up so much air time I had no idea what Jones actually looked like.

I've always thought after the inevitable negative campaigning you should always finish positive. Give people a reason to VOTE FOR YOU not against the opposition.

Jones's campaign should realize that the negative campaigning is being taken care of for them by the press.

Since most of these republican voters in Alabama will not vote for a democrat - I would like to see more billboards telling them it's okay to abstain from voting if their conscience won't let them vote for Moore OR telling them to write in someone better and more honorable than Moore. Either way, they will be votes NOT going to Roy Moore and will give Doug Jones a fighting chance to win. Just my two cents.

All we need is a Russian troll factory. They already have all the bots.

I would definitely go with the negative if Moore was red with horns and a little goatee. Otherwise, it just isn't accurate enough.

And it needs to be stronger. More about Doug Jones’ accomplishments. Enough people are getting tired of the KKK stranglehold on southern politics. They’re ready. Take a stand proudly. Boast a little.

The negative ad is memorable but a gut-punch. DUer underpants upthread has it right. The negative angle is already being put out in the press. If Jones doubles down on that, he plays into the left-wing-is-in-league-with-the-media narrative the right has been pushing. Our side loves it, but on their side it causes a recalcitrant response: “I’m gonna vote for Moore anyway just because!”

So that is counterproductive for us. What the media has not been focused on is who Doug Jones is and what he has accomplished. So it’s up to us to get the word out on social media.
