Iran’s democratically elected Mossadegh (sp?) government circa 1953 ( just to make British Petroleum happy), and the Iranians and everyone else have suffered from that stupidly evil move ever since. So I don’t want leave Eisenhower out of the mainspring of Republican evil.

pure, unadulterated evil. Really, who? They are psychologically twisted and perverse. This sort of explains it to a degree.

The sad truth is we carry them. Without us they start to die off, because their policies are truly suicidal. Their ideas only seem valid to them because they are injected by culture; in practice, they evade disaster only because of the force which alters and denies most of their worst impulses -- us.

If we were not a nation but an insect or bacteriological colony, they would be lost to evolution. But the idea of a nation or a human species is an advanced cooperative concept that creates evolutionary backwaters in which outmoded beliefs can survive and sometimes thrive for a time. If they were a population unto themselves, they would quickly collapse.

Misogynistic. Racist. Religiously autocratic. Hoarding honored, work denigrated. Science only sometimes useful -- when your kid's sick, or when it makes something you need or like. Obsessed with weaponry for defense against an imaginary threat. Addicted to damaging drugs and even more damaging worldviews. An outright refusal to adapt to change, or the future in general.

Sounds like most populations in third world countries, does it not?

GOP leadership, however. Worst. Human. Beings. Ever.

They disgrace the human race and threaten the future of the species wth their ever-worsening stream of Bad Ideas. Out they go, or out we all go.

The tax plan is simply to borrow money and give it to rich people. Then we all have to pay it back.

-Do away with the safetynet
-Do away with consumer protections
-Do away with workers rights and unions
-Give it all to the rich

Pretty much turn into a third world country.

I realized that when they pulled their horrid stunt on Terry Schiavo. Then again when they stole the election from Al Gore. Then it was reenforced for me further when they lied us into Iraq. And again when they stole the next presidency from John Kerry. And then when they tanked the economy and hurt all of us. And then when they opposed President Obama blindly for 8 years.

This is not something new. It is just more flagrant than it used to be.

I shook my head at how people could go to war with their own cousins and brothers. I'm starting to "get it" now. Since DT won, my high and mighty ideas about my people have been seriously eroded. That's a hard thing to get back.

They found that the voting populace did NOT favor them and it was hard for them to get elected. So they had to resort to (what I like to call) extracurricular methods: lying, hyperbole, hypocrisy, cheating, gerrymandering, losing ballot boxes, license checks on election day, losing registrations, etc. I could go on all day, but you get the grift, I mean drift.
