Will we now be hearing a stream of stories about Matt Lauer?

They said this was the only complaint ever filed against him. He was pretty powerful, and may have been very good at choosing people he could make feel vulnerable, by intimidation.

I'm thinking there are a whole lot of racing hearts beating within new media/tv/film people who always thought they were invulnerable.

Stay tuned - I'm sure it will be posted by the end of the week.

Either way the speed of it really points to it being severe, undeniable, or both.

Just because people are commenting on the Lauer story, right now, doesn't mean they have forgotten everything else that is going on. I'd be hard pressed to find one story on which to focus, anyway.

Keep in mind that there are a number of us who are 'living vicariously' through these revelations because so much of what we, ourselves, reported went ignored, laughed at or avenged.

My real anticipation, today, is if trump*'s manic tweeting binge has been triggered by something BIG about to come to light, and from reading other's posts, today, I'm far from alone in that anticipation.

Americans are too overstuffed and lazy. Until the Chalupas and Diet Coke runs out Americans will not revolt. They'll continue to get their news from Twitter and Facebook and say, "both parties are the same" and "we need a change." They'll continue to admire bombast and stupidity. They'll favor rhetoric over substance and words over actions. Capable people with good track records will be accused of being establishment and disregarded. Then they'll vote for Pence or Cruz or Rubio and everything will continue. The Trump admin seems no different than the Reagan administration to me.

Just another message to women to sit down and shut up while the "real issues" of income inequality are debated. In case you don't care about civil rights issues, human rights issues or keep-your -hands-off-the-employees issues, sexual harassment is an income inequality issue. How many women were run off jobs because of harassment? How many qualified men and women were denied jobs because the harasser hired less qualified people just do he could harass them? How many exceptionally qualified women could not break the glass ceiling because of harassment?

This is money issue, too, for those who are tone deaf to pleas for dignity in the workplace.

If you are responding to me, I am confused about your castigating comment, but I might be misinterpreting the direction of your comment.

I've been on the harsh side of some pretty heinous harassment and intimidation situations, before, during and after my time in the military. I know, first hand, how hard it is to speak up because you can be ignored, and there can be some bad consequences - I've experienced those, too. We are truly on the same side.

I have dozens of threads on Franken trashed

Not really a "topic Nazi" complaint. This is a discussion forum. Why there have to be dozens of threads on the same topic irks me. My feeling is, if you'd like to discuss the topic, do so in one of the many threads already formed

Lauer story for a while .

At @Variety, @RaminSetoodeh & I had been working on a Matt Lauer story for months and NBC was aware. There are multiple women we've spoken to with far-ranging accusations against Lauer. The power of journalism has never been more evident with this cultural change.
