Lauer you sorry ass shill

Endless support for the war
The embarrassing coverage of W's speech on the USS Abraham Lincoln (Ann Curry lead a USA! USA! cheer)
The Town hall with Hillary that was dominated with questions about the stupid emails

Etc.

Good riddance.

Do we know any of the accusations against him yet? Your judgment and penalties seem a bit premature.

Still, NBC fired his sorry ass. His career is finished just like Charlie Rose's and Bill O'Reilly's, to name but two other miscreants.

All these turds will do fine if they only want to lounge around each and every day. Another facet of this currently crashing wave is to try and imagine the labor shortage at every strata of employment if all the men who've done such deeds were fired in a short period of time! Having been in the military and having spent 30-some years wearing a "Blue Collar", I've been witness to phenomenon more than I could ever hope to remember. There would be an honest labor emergency throughout all industry.

I get the nonstated assumption that it’s ok for us to believe his accuser (even though so far she is anonymous) because we hate Matt’s assumed political leanings.

Maybe I’m misreading this, but to me that’s BullCrap!

If it was Dan Rather, you know damn well we wouldn’t have twelve threads on how it couldn’t happen to a more deserving person.

Once again, these threads prove to me the hypocrisy of all charges.

And if Rather were accused and it was found credible enough for the Network to fire their star, I'm pretty sure people here would be perfectly ok with Rather being fired.

Disappointed but ok with it.

So what's your point?

The accused is someone we don’t like, so let’s pile on, but when it’s Franken, an anonymous accuser isn’t believable.
When it’s Someone we don’t like there are dozens of threads about how rotten the guy is, but when it’s Conyers you are hard pressed to find even one thread in breaking news.
I think the hypocrisy stinks, and I will call it out. I just used Rather as an example, and perhaps it was a poor one, so for that I apologize. Maybe I should have used Keith Olbermann, who many have said is miserable to work with., yet most here like.
I don’t like Matt Lauer, and I do believe the story, but I also believe the Conyers story, and even though it’s nowhere near the same plane of yuckyness, I also believe the Franken stories.

there have been threads about lauer being an asshat long before today. Just that today he was fired for being an asshat. It was not publically known that Conyers had a problem keeping his hands to himself. He resigned his committee and is not running for re-election. You are new here and the breaking news forum is for just that. No news stories after x amount of hours they have been published and NO DUPES. So yeah, you would be hard pressed to find more than 1 post about Conyers in there.

In fact, at this point, we don't know the substance of the accusation against Lauer, who made it, or anything else. What we know is that NBC fired its most prominent employee based on it. I don't think NBC management or legal team are complete dunces, and they made what they believe to be a good business decision. They get paid a lot of money to make good business decisions. For now, I'll go along with NBC's judgment.

Many people see proofs in simplistic and unsupported inferences of other people's biases. You've predicated your entire sentiment on "maybe I’m misreading this..."

It's a logical fallacy to do so.
