Im not the first or the tenth person to say this, but I cant help wonder how different and how much better the last year would have been if Hillary Clinton hadnt been covered by men who share Donald Trumps view of women.

(43,173 posts)I talked with a GOP voter a few days after the election. You couldn't say anything right about Hillary.
Her dad told her to vote Trump, and she just went along with the dominant male view. Her rationale?
"I couldn't stand her voice."
Now that's a sure way to be an informed voter - NOT!

(37,648 posts)It's not just an imaginary thing that women past a certain age become invisible. Once they are no longer considered "fuc___ble," they cease to exist, in a way.
So HRC being older, overweight, and wearing pantsuits...I'm sure that she was considered a nothing to many men. Part of what made Sarah Palin so popular w/conservatives was her looks, clothing, and age. HRC would have done better among some voters had she been a so-called babe.
This phenomenon doesn't seem to apply to men. Exhibit A: Trump. Really old, forgetful, morbidly obese, the weirdest hair in the universe, unattractive, his "babe" days were over years before. Didn't affect him a bit, as he criticized women for being too fat or old.
