http://www.cnn.com/2017/11/29/politics/donald-trump-far-right-immigration-videos/index.htmlTrump is someone who prides himself on a sort of everywhere-all-at-once approach to governance. He throws lots and lots of things at the wall every day --through tweets, public statements and policy maneuvers. He has, from the start of his political career, reveled in thumbing his nose at conventional wisdom and political correctness. He is a provocateur by nature; he likes to get reaction, he likes to freak out the squares.
And yet, the last few days Trump feels even more unmoored than usual. More erratic. More wild.
"Something is unleashed with him lately," Times reporter Maggie Haberman said on CNN Wednesday morning. "I don't know what is causing it, I don't know how to describe it."

Maybe...after the tax cut is successfully passed....they will find another important issue to divert our attention away from....

(82,849 posts)I hope this is the spell being broken. Call out this erratic motherfucker for what he patently is. The popular media are not serving anyone by pretending otherwise: Not the country, not the citizens, not the rest of the planet, not even the robber barons who think they've finally picked the lock on the Treasury.

Trump is a demented whirlwind.
This sort of nonsense is just the press, following the path of destruction while trying to pretend that they are ahead of the wind. They are two steps behind. Trump just marches out in front, following any impulsive thought he has. When the press starts looking at him through THAT lens, they'll be able to get control of the story.
0rganism
(23,955 posts)there is an assumption that Trump's behavior is in any way related to a governing philosophy related to our currently-active constitution, and that Trump has some interest (no matter how vague or ill-informed) in actually performing the duties of the presidency.
these notions could not be further from the truth, which has itself become mostly irrelevant to our ascendant method of governance.
hey CNN, want a better rhetorical question? how about, "is the dominant political class losing control?" how about, "has our nation been taken over by neo-Nazis through a wave of faux populism?" how about, "what will life look like for the first generation in nearly a century to hit retirement age without social security or medicare?" good luck with that journalism thing CNN, you had quite the run, hope it lasts.
