I found out that it was not open to the public. It's not listed as a campaign event. I've been unable to figure out who makes up the the audience. Anyone know?

Trump doesn't dare appear before an audience that's not pre-screened. Turnout is lower, but since the media are barred from attending, he'll just say he had an enthusiastic overflow crowd. Pictures may surface that show that to be a bald-faced lie, but folks like Meghan McCain will eat up Trump's bragging and get all miffed if anyone suggests that Trump is lying again.
