General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsLets recap where we are now as a country
1. Today womens rights means only abuser media types and Democratic Party members get fired for their conduct and the Equal Rights Amendment needs to stay on the back burner for another oh lets say generation. GOP abusers are victims of smear campaigns and really you cant trust women who may have blood coming out of them.
2. Our tax code needs to bail out the 1% because they need our help but healthcare and education for the public must be taxed or rate hiked out of existence. This healthcare stuff interferes with our commitment to aid the top 1%. Also that federal debt stuff was important when the black guy was in office. I mean who wants the black President succeeding. Now that our federal debt will be overseen by a white guy it is sweet and we must add tons of red ink to sweeten it even more.
3. National anthem protests must end because these insult the sacrifice of our service members and we must all remember that freedom isnt free and only the GOP has paid that price. However our glorious leader POTUS can degrade service members during White House ceremonies because hey those vets werent white and degrading a Democratic woman Senator while humiliating an Indian is a two fer.
4. Corporations are the endangered species of our times and Mulvaney is committed to aiding their survival because consumers are the wounded antelopes on the plain that need to be killed because hey they were born antelopes and not a fierce beautiful Corporation.
5.Children are our most precious commodity and as such need to be milked for all the cash they can provide our charter schools or banks with paying off their college loans. Sometimes commodities ,like the barren hen, need to die because they are not healthy. Funding CHIP only encourages weak lines to survive and burden us. Will a sick kid be able to pay their student debt?
I dont think so!
6. Foreign policy and the Foreign Service is such a waste of resource space. Lets end the careers of these public servants because this century is the Chinese century and thats ok because they released ungrateful athletes and really like our POTUS. Who can compete with us when we shout USA, USA ! Plus Russia has our back unlike those weak European democracies.
7.Science, climate change and the environment are so BORING. The less said and thought about them the better. Besides old white guys in the GOP are not going to be alive in thirty years so why should they care. Tweeting, thats where its at.
8. Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose- so isnt it better to be ruled rather than governed! Plus now we are entertained. We all know nothing bad can happen when we are entertained.
9. If you didnt have inherit money you are a simpleton and need to be used for the 1%.
Just so we are clear is present here.
The problem is I/we could go on forever. I just needed to vent this out because I am now an alien in my own country. Something I never thought possible. I was clearly an idiot.
Feel free to add your own vent.
PS I love you folks!

(9,666 posts)Yesterday, I went to the doc for a long-overdue checkup. When he asked about depression, I first laid into The Stumpster, to which he agreed, then I explained any bad days seem to be increasing but are getting harder to tell apart from depression or the result of powerless outrage over the direction this country is headed. Doc then went on to say, in the last year, he has seen more of that than ever before. Prescription was: "more exercise, less beer". I said: "can-do" to the first, and "what, are you trying to kill me?" to the second.
I guess we somehow have to hold on.
