Election watchers are warning that the election will be tampered withbut that misses the bigger picture.Progressive election integrity activists are already worrying Alabama Republicans will steal the December 12 special election for U.S. Senate, in which Republican Roy Moore, accused of sexual harassment by more than a half-dozen women, faces Democrat Doug Jones.
Attached are suggestions that I circulated via Twitter starting in October for what Doug Jones campaign should try to do to detect and deter hacking of the voting machines and tabulators, Jenny Cohn, a lawyer and Twitter activist wrote last weekend in a group email to progressive activists.
This is what AL needs in order not to go under a wave of fakery fueled by stories about Bible-minded voters, replied another, after the thread discussed the need to secure digitized images of every ballot cast if a recount was necessary. I am still sure more voters will vote for Jones than Moore.

I'm glad to see the concern about the election's integrity. Let's hope any hanky panky can be kept in check.

(5,591 posts)in any of these corrupted Republican fouled elections. They have no integrity.
They will cheat. They will destroy the democratic process. Our only hope is an overwhelming numbers game of Democrat voters to completely wipe out any hacking and manipulations accompanied by strict watchdog election policies and fierce, relentless challenges to voting corruption. Based on history I am not so hopeful.
Are enough sane people mad enough about it yet?

(109 posts)we continue to have elections that are not verified. As is obvious to anyone with an IQ of 20 YOU CAN'T HAVE A DEMOCRACY IF YOU CAN'T (OR WON'T) VERIFY THE VOTE.
HAND COUNTED PAPER BALLOTS are the only way to insure ballot integrity, at least as much as it's possible to insure it.

(63,213 posts)They are wholly unconcerned about the catastrophic fucker in the White House, taking no action to rein him in or even to contradict him.
That they have no fear of electoral consequence suggests that they know that they have nothing to fear.
