You must not attend the White House Christmas party!
The attacks on the First Amendment by Trump and his administration threaten your very existence and mission. You must not normalize this.
The exclusion of reporters because Trump doesn't like their views is damaging to a free press.
Trump has incited violence against reporters.
What more evidence do you need? You're not being invited to the party to report on it, you're being schmoozed. Don't fall for it.
You must send a message to this White House that their attacks on the free press are unacceptable and un-American.
Stand united against these fascist actions.

(15,543 posts)Will they continue in submissive stenography to Comrade Casino, the republican Draft-Dodger-in-Chief, and his cabal of KGOP republican cronies?
Or will they stand in principled solidarity against the daily onslaught of republican lies, and turn their backs - and asses - on the republican lie & crime & treason machine that they have let use them shamefully?
Will White House correspondents take a stand for truth?

(82,849 posts)But the White House correspondents showed a remarkable capacity for abuse and self-abasement during W's administration. Trump is even worse, but I have yet to see a concerted effort by the reporters to stand up to any of the abuse. When they didn't object to right wing jackoff ideologues like Lars Larson skyping in to the daily pressers so they could fawn over the administration, it shouldn't surprise them that the administration saw that as a new floor instead of an upper limit.

(37,648 posts)No matter who is in the White House. Ask hard questions, jot down the answers, ask follow-up questions, jot down the answers. Report all that. They are not supposed to be in the business of arguing with the W.H. It's not supposed to be an antagonistic exercise. We're all on the same side.
But yes...those who ask hard questions, and follow-up questions, sometimes get disinvited by THIS W.H. As Stephen Miller said, "We will not be questioned!"

(67,109 posts)"As Stephen Miller said, "We will not be questioned!" That, is a dictatorial statement if ever and invites a totalitarian form of government ... which I think is the agenda in some GOP circles.

(37,648 posts)to show the kind of administration we had for a short while, thanks to traitorous collusion with a foreign enemy.
That clip of Miller saying that will haunt him the rest of his life. He even looks like a Nazi while saying it. "Ve vill NOT be qvestioned!"

(18,124 posts)sucking up to the fascist-in-chief. No doubts. Skinnin' and grinnin'....all anyone will see is gums..... If they boycott en mass, then it will show they are trying to get out from under that heel of the monster they, in a large part, are responsible for creating by allowing that abomination to use them to spread his hate to his 66 million bots that follow him....
Fall of ameriKKKan empire is underway. With this administration dismantling our democracy in favor of their greed and white racist hate, we won't recover anytime soon...maybe, if we can get this POS out of office soon, a couple of generations.

(15,646 posts)too little, too late. When we see articles like "If North Korea fires a nuclear missile at the U.S., how could it be stopped?" in yesterday's Washington Post, this regime has already been normalized.
The media as a whole is complicit in this on-going take down of democracy, free speech, fair elections and the American people by this fascist pig and the oligarchs who created an environment ripe and ready for fascist control.

They should just not show up anymore. That would send a direct message.

(8,964 posts)as a no-show to the annual White House Correspondent's dinner. He intends to pick and choose the circumstances for engaging journalists, making certain that he has a clear upper hand, where no "damage" will ensue. This might appear to be a subtle break from normalcy, but it is part of a pattern to isolate the truth.

@iamsambee Since @AprilDRyan has been non-invited to the White House Christmas Party,
I think you and she should host an alternate Correspondents' Christmas Party, where you
could celebrate You-know-Who's birthday AND the First Amendment.

(7,142 posts)for the M$M to stand with CNN and not go. They have a choice to take a stand or rub elbows with a tyrant who wants to obliterate them.
My guess is that the press' corporate overlords will demand they go. I doubt that the individual reporters will have a choice. I can envision Trump tearing CNN a new one at this banquet. What will those present do, applaud?
