In a story posted via The Washington Post, and followed up at The Hill, sources within the White House indicate that John Dowd, Trumps attorney, took over Trumps twitter feed and posted as Trump sending out a tweet that indicated he may have been involved in obstruction of justice, knowing of Flynns criminal acts:
.............
So let me get this straight, Trump admits to an impeachable offense on Twitter, so his attorney says, "No, that was me pretending."
Folks, American history just took a nose dive down the rabbit hole. Not Alice in Wonderland, this is Donald's Liarland. Truth no longer exists. There are no facts, just fake news. And whatever Donald imagines is real, and it can change when Donald changes his thinking. And Donald is not responsible for anything, doesn't have to answer to anyone, and is the center of the universe.
Welcome to Liarland, just another day in American history.

(38,010 posts)I seriously can't imagine he just hands over his phone and lets rando staffers and lawyers post from his Twitter app.
Just how many people have the password to the personal social media account of the president of the United States? What sort of security clearances do they have? This is not the same as a press secretary or White House spokesperson representing the word of the Executive. We know who those people are and we know it is their job to convey the real sentiments of our POTUS. Never in any tweet from the account @realDonaldTrump have I seen words or hashtags that state someone other than him is doing the tweeting.
Yeah yeah, I know. I've heard the geeksplanation: When it's him, there's a snippet of text at the end of the tweet that indicates it's been sent from an Android phone. When it's someone else that's tweeted the bit reads it came from an iPhone. Well, that's just not fucking enough of a clarification. Exactly who is communicating to the American people as if they were the damned president? How secure are their phones? How secure is anyone's phone in that madhouse?
And while we're at it can we talk about @POTUS? Poor forgotten, innocuous @POTUS. Has that account ever been the star of the evening headlines? Isn't it ironic that everyone knows the tweets coming from that account aren't even him?

(17,135 posts)If not, did he electronically send that tweet to Trump at that time, or some time beforehand?
Did he write it on a piece of paper, for Trump to use as tweet material? If so, where is that paper?

Trump is a very disciplined, serious person in real life.
Problem is there is no real life for him.

Trump raised alarm bells in his published response to the news that his former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.
The tweet published to Trumps account clearly implied that he already knew that Flynn had deceived the Feds when he fired him back in February: I had to fire General Flynn because he lied to the Vice President and the FBI. He has pled guilty to those lies. It is a shame because his actions during the transition were lawful. There was nothing to hide!
That unleashed a frenzy of speculation about whether Trump had just admitted to obstructing justice, since it seems he must have known that Flynn had committed a felony when he was pressuring then-FBI director James Comey to ease up on the Flynn case.
But then came word that maybe Trump didnt write the tweet after all. The Washington Post reported that Trumps lawyer John Dowd drafted the presidents tweet, according to two people familiar with the twitter message. The Associated Press also identified Dowd as the one who crafted the tweet, citing one person familiar with the situation, though Dowd himself declined to make a comment to the AP.
Attributing the tweet to Dowd set off a new round of incredulous chatter. .............
