He loves to call me up and chat politics, and he was asking me today how it could be possible that people with a free will could actually vote Republican over and over again when it was to their obvious detriment. Not even in Russia, where Putin controls most of the media now, do people swallow all the crap Putin hopes they will. Yet, in the USA, where people actually have a choice, they choose to watch Fox of their own free will, and then choose to believe everything they hear. Fox doesn't even make a secret of the fact that they lie. They even went to court to confirm their right to lie and still call themselves news. That would not fly in Germany.
I just saw a clip of a guy from an Arab country in the USA asking people on the street to name five Arab countries. Most people could not. Some of them could not even name one, and some named countries like Turkey, Afghanistan and Iran, none of which, of course, are Arab. Some people couldn't even name the language spoken in most Arab countries. But in Foxsucker America, I suppose plenty of people couldn't tell you the main language spoken in England, either.
