D'OH! Mitch McConnell Killed All Corporate Tax Deductions In His Frenzy To Pass Tax CutsWhile Republicans were manically outlining their plans to take from the poor to give to the Trumps, they also, accidentally, nullified all of their corporate donors’ favorite deductions.
The Senate bill brings the normal corporate rate down to 20 percent — while leaving the alternative minimum rate at … 20 percent. The legislation would still allow corporations to claim a wide variety of tax credits and deductions — it just renders all them completely worthless. Companies can either take no deductions, and pay a 20 percent rate — or take lots of deductions … and pay a 20 percent rate.
Oops. For want of a committee meeting, the tax bill was lost -- or at least, substantial tax breaks made permanent for the billionaires paying good money for Senate Republicans to lower their damned taxes.
This has their donors in a tizzy, with the bill heading toward a conference committee to reconcile the various provisions, forcing a vote in the Senate and the House again on the same bill.
Something tells me it will be infinitely harder to get to 51 next time around. Protests are already forming. People are already in the streets. And donors are not happy campers.

ya' gotta' love it, and this supports what the Dems were saying about how nobody read this bill.
It also supports what their donors say, which is that republicans can't get anything done.
Did you see the protests in Maine against Susan Collins? Posted here, I think. Anyway, Republicans, in their frenzy of greed, often screw themselves. It would be great if this cost them the tax bill. It would make me so happy.

We have time...get the word out. This weekend I was hooked up with groups organizing events and we have to do 3 things...
1. Call your reps, do not stop (do it often) and tell friends and families. The calls were working last week and it scares the GOP so keep it up.
2. Make sure you spread the word on social media...this is crucial. Spread news of anything that is relevant such as a protest, town hall, etc. no matter how big or small. Send it to the media and friends.
3. Attend events, start your own, just make sure you get out there if you can, donate, do SOMETHING!
The Senate and House want to say that this is a waste of time on our part because it's working and THE GOP IS SCARED...GOOD! They are rushing it through and it is a mess. The two chambers have to reach an agreement. There are many distractions and the media may ignore us but STAY FOCUSED! We must flip 23 of 28 congressmen and get three senators, two if we win Alabama.
Local and national news is getting on board so we have to keep the pressure on the GOP and DO NOT STOP! IT IS WORKING!!!
