Trump's survival plan

Mike Allen 3 hrs ago

President Trump, his lawyers and his political team are telegraphing with increasing precision their strategy for fighting any charges against the president in the unfolding Russia investigation:

1. Wishful thinking: Cooperate with special counsel Bob Mueller, and tell Trump everything is fine. White House lawyer Ty Cobb continues to argue that the facts will be fine for the president, and that Mueller's probe will wrap up "shortly after the first of the year absent some unforeseen delay."

Trump often buys this, and it's partly what keeps aides sane: They know charges may come, but the happy talk gives them hope.

Aides know Mueller would not hire a team of prosecutorial "killers," and give Mike Flynn a break, unless bigger game was in clear range. But the aides point out that Trump has spent most of his adult life in litigation. He erupts in 30-second bursts but usually settles down.

2. Fight: Trump's lawyers will argue Trump either did not violate any law — or, even if it appears he did, that the president, because of his broad power, cannot be charged and should not be impeached.

Watch for them to argue that he was legally a different entity prior to inauguration, so the alleged illegal actions of that entity should have no bearing upon the current entity.

Bullshit, of course, but it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

We have gotten off the tract as to the WHY that Trump has taken from the onset of his campaign, as to the reason for his stance and enamorment with the Russians. This is the the root question that has created everything that has transgressed since Donald's election to office. The "WHY"......

Why?

Money and power.

What can we do? Turn out and vote in November, like we should have last year. Cut the blah blah blah, Sanders this Hillary that. Anyone who is not for us is against us. We are fighting against evil. Stop wringing our hands about b.s. and letting trolls have their way with us.

That's the big thing. Trump is obsessed with wealth. He was drowning in bankruptcies. No one would loan him money so he had to find another source to fund his lifestyle.

That's probably the reason he doesn't reveal his income tax.
When US banks cut him off after years of his being a bad credit risk, he had to go find other sources. Deutsche Bank welcomed him with open arms BUT....they limited his borrowing, also leery of his payment history. Deutsche Bank is also heavily involved in Russia. So it wouldn't surprise me if they steered him to Russian banks and perhaps Russian Oligarchs who are known to do "investing" in projects, as a way for Trump to find more and less obvious huge pools of financial loaning. Even investing as "silent partners" in worthwhile projects.
With Putin's control of almost all Russian banks, financing and in partnership with many of those Oligarchs. Trumps dealings quickly became know to him. With his knowing just about everything that transpires financially in Russia. Is it any wonder that Trump has done nothing but attempt to conceal and be perfidious about his financial and banking history. Especially when it started to look like he may have a chance of being elected President. Can't let the voters know that he was in bed with Putin and other Russian's. Wouldn't look good to the voters. And can't run around bad mouthing Putin and Russia or they just might blow the whistle on Trumps little financial shenanigans. Thus he played "Mr. Nice Guy" when ever anyone mentioned the Russian's and Putin.
As Shakespeare once wrote and Trump emulated, "Me think she doth protest too much."

something very much like this. Trump was up to his eyeballs in debt. One bank he was dealing with here had put him on an allowance. Not the type to put up with that, he searched and found dirty money to soothe his greedy needs.
