I keep wondering what effect this presidency is having on churches

The GOP has been using God to win elections for quite some time claiming the moral high ground. This presidency seems to leave all of that in tatters. I keep wondering if these churches are going to turn on them.

At this point they seem to be holding the line but at some point it has to go to far right?

Right?

I swore off organized religion years ago mainly because of the hypocrisy of claiming you should not judge others all the while judging others but the recent hypocrisy is just a whole other level. I mean Roy Moore is using Christianity to justify his behavior at this point. That is just so warped I can hardly process it.

At some point sanity will prevail right?

Cheese and rice!

Because of the widespread pedophilia, the protection of and justification for a pedophile to serve in the U.S. Senate for a vote shows their naked perversion of their so called religion. I can’t. I’m just done with all of it. Atheists are far better people.

Expecting morality from someone who has an omnipotent invisible friend who will forgive them for anything they do wrong, is a tall order.

This would sound at best, idiotic... as well as one of the most mentally lazy sentiments I've ever heard:

"I swore off xxxx (cars, science, black and white comedies, et. al.) mainly due to its misuse by others..."

Sanity, indeed...

I attend the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship here in the Piedmont Triad area of NC. Since the election a year ago, the number of new people visiting our welcoming community has doubled if not more, and the number of new members actually joining has outpaced anything that we've seen in a very long time.

At least for this one thing, and only this one think, I say..."Thanks Donald!"
