(8,656 posts)voting against that tax bill
exposing Trump.......
switch parties....
This is just publicity bullshit.
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)But yeah, he could have voted against that hand-scribbled tax bill, and encouraged others in his caucus to do the same. The only reason to pass the Senate bill is party over country.

(81,307 posts)Yep. Party Over Country and definitely Party FUNDERS Over Country. Selling their souls for a tax cut. And climbing into bed with an accused pedophile. Just spiffy, 'eh?

(19,201 posts)to a better qualified Democrat in Alabama is going to make up for the rape of the American taxpayers with the Republican "tax reform" giveaway package.
He must be a real flake to think this is going to fool anyone. Assclown!

(15,543 posts)He's sending a message of basic dignity to republican voters in Alabama. I think the timing of this is super important. Don't put the guy down for doing the right thing. You can spank him some other day for acting like a republican. But today he acted like an American.

(27,813 posts)I think it's an effective statement. Yes, of course I wish he voted differently on a lot of things, but I just think this sends a good message.

First Speaker
(4,858 posts)...yes, even if they voted for the Tax Bill. Even if they said X, even if they supported Y, even if they voted for Z. *Any* sanity, no matter how small, is welcome in today's America. Thank you, Senator Flake.

(3,282 posts)Gives a dressing-down to Trump only on his way out the door, but still votes with him over 90% of the time. This is a publicity stunt only. A token gesture to make us think he cares about anything but himself. He's still a party hardliner, and I'll believe any change when I see it.
Also, if endorsing a Democrat over a child molester is the only bar he has to cross to gain our approval, the bar has been lowered so far I can't even look at it any more.

(21,157 posts)Just spent last week in Arizona. They are not happy with the coroporte lawyer. They are starting to gather signatures for a type of campaign disclosure act in the state. They are doing a grassroots drive and the response of volunteers have been overwhelming. And the letters to the editor in the Arizona Republic were all anti Twitler. Never read one positive letter in support of the
governor or president.
