Is this his pay off to Sheldon Adelson and Spouse? Adelson is one of Trumps close daily confidants.

from what i've heard this is going to infuriate EVERYONE except for Israel.

So.... why are we doing this??? I don't understand why the USA cares about doing this. What are we getting out of it? What advantage? I'm baffled. Why don't we just leave the embassy where it is and NOT piss everyone off?

Remember 2000, before * got s/elected? The Second Intifada was instigated by Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, who took an ill-advised trek to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. He was warned that it would infuriate Palestinians and Arabs but he did it anyway. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Intifada

Results: a lot of Israeli-Palestinian violence with many casualties. And all for just a walk.

In this precarious situation, you have Donald Trump, (like it or not) the President of the United States, who will not only "recognize" that all or some of Jerusalem is the capitol of Israel, but will symbolically tell the Arab World that our country is the military protectorate of both that city and Israeli. Hurt the Embassy and we'll see it as an attack on both us and Israel.

In any scenario, do you see any sovereign Arab, Palestinian, and/or Persian countries accepting this as a fait accompli and get in line? Or how about ISIS? Or rogue non-Jewish Israelis? This decision is the literal line-in-the-sand. And I don't mean Intifada #3. This could be war and it won't end (if it ever does) well for any participant.

Or at least began construction.

At the time, I and many Americans thought it was the logical solution. That’s what the propaganda told us. We assumed the law was at least roughly following the original borders.

I’m not going to apologize for my support of Israel for so many years, but the last twenty years have clearly been an apartheid and a theft, worse and worse. Whatever moral high ground they had in the West Bank has long since been forfeited.

Even Gaza, in which Israel had slightly more moral high ground, has been ceded morally in the last few years.

Trump is a 71 year old man who is still operating on 70 year old talking points. What’s happening in America now? It’s just fucking sad.
