Donald Trump celebrated the Republican tax cut bill that will raise taxes on the middle class while cutting them for the wealthy and corporations fantastic.
Video:
Trump said, its a fantastic bill for the middle class, its a fantastic bill for jobs and for companies wanting to bring back massive amounts of money into our country. Its really I view it more than anything else, its a tremendous bill for jobs and for the middle class. I think people are seeing that more and more, and the more they learn about it, the more popular it becomes.
There was not a single true statement in anything that Trump said. The tax bill only has a 20% favorability rating. The favorability rating for the legislation has consistently been between 20%-25%. Every single non-partisan analysis of the bill has shown that it isnt going to spur growth and create jobs.
According to the Tax Policy Center, the majority of American households are going to be worse off under Trumps fantastic tax bill, Under equal-per-household financing or proportional-to-income financing, not only would the tax cuts continue to be regressive, but the vast majority of American households would actually be worse off, with the tax cuts plus the financing, than they would be if the tax cuts had not occurred.................

(27,815 posts)... Trump being forced to explain what's in that bill?
I guarantee you that he has absolutely NO idea what it says, or what it does. All he knows is that if it passes into law, he'll be able to say that he "accomplished" something.

(595 posts)I am stunned by the lack of real coverage on NPR. They bring up some vague idea of a problem without really getting to the substance of the problem, allow the guest deny it, and then.....................nothing.
Unfortunately no real alternative here radio for my commute.
