Mueller investigation ending soon

Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ own words come back to haunt her at White House press briefing

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was confronted with her own past remarks on Tuesday.

During a press briefing, a reporter noted that Sanders had said over a month ago that the investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller would be wrapping up shortly. But since that time, two Trump aides have pleaded guilty in the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

“I think it was about five or six weeks ago that you indicated from that podium on a few occasions that you believed the White House believes that Mueller’s investigation will be wrapping up shortly,” the reporter said. “Since that time we have seen a very high level aide to the president — a former aide to the president, a former national security adviser — has entered a plea deal with the special counsel’s office.”

But Sanders insisted the investigation was still on the verge of wrapping up.

It stretched on for years then, bam!

It was over with people clinging to helicopter runners as they lifted off to escape from Saigon.

IMO the end of this admin. is building to that

... of the total incompetence of the Trump "pResidency".

There are well-seasoned GOP spin-meisters out there who could actually handle questions from the press without being petulant, dismissive, and looking as though they'd rather be anywhere else on earth than standing at that podium.

Spicer was an easily befuddled light-weight who was obviously on the defensive at all times. He never did lose his trademark deer-in-the-headlights look, nor the stench of flop-sweat as he attempted to look like he knew what was actually going on.

Then there was Scaramucci (remember him?), an extra from the cast of "Goodfellas" who was pretty much pre-fired before he was hired.

And now there's Huckster-Sanders, a tablecloth-wearing idiot who always comes off as having more important things to do with her time - like taking a photo of a pecan pie and attempting to pass it off as an example of her culinary skills.

Truth be told, there's no reason to think that anyone Trump would appoint to handle one of the most important jobs in his administration - that of someone who can lie without breaking a sweat, and can defend the indefensible with panache - given his penchant for appointing the hopelessly incompetent to every position available.
