project as well. I don't like to get into politics with people when the common goal is to take care of the animals. It sometimes comes up during Presidential elections, or if there is a hotly contested local or state race. I try to keep quiet. But I have noticed both sides out there helping the animals.

Maybe that is one of the few ways we may find common ground and finally work together.

would have detested Trump’s dislike of pets, and of course Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette would have hated his tacky use of gold plating, etc.

Victoria, Elizabeth I, and Henry VIII all had beloved dogs. In fact dogs are the conventional pets of monarchies. Victoria’s beloved spaniel Dash is in many of the early portraits of her.

Trump is just a pathetic narcissistic sociopath.

That's right, how other people live is somehow a reflection upon his royal heinie.

He has absolutely no clue that millions upon millions of Americans have pets in their homes, not to mention that numerous presidents have also had them?

Like Ivanka and her champagne popsicles and hideous Thanksgiving shell centerpiece/atrocity, he shows he knows nothing about class, which many Americans of modest means have in abundance, while he and his trashy clan have none.

First thing I've heard about Pence that makes Evangelical Ken Doll seem normal.

Tue Dec 5, 2017, 11:03 PM

Trump is big on someone being a "quality" person - as in when talking about his children he likes to say they are "quality" people.

Trump's mom was a maid - someone would feel the sting of class consciousness. Especially after moving on up and all that. She'd be keenly aware of her roots.

I'd bet anything she often spoke of quality v. low class people while he was growing up - as in how one would behave as opposed to the other. To her thinking. Don't do that Donald, kind of thing, only low-class people do that or think that or say that, etc..

But it would also come in handy as a reason for not giving or getting of certain things...such as a pet.

I have no doubt Trump has daddy issues, but his mother was a driving force in his life.

I'd bet any amount of money Trump was told this by his mother. (Only low class people have pets)

Maybe that is why Trump is uncomfortable around pets and small children. They see through him and have an automatic aversion. Per Ivana, he wasn't even comfortable around his own children when they were small. They must have longed for Daddy's love which would help explain the people they (Jr., Eric and Ivanka) have developed into.
