When you burn it all down,
when you make no pretense of recognizing degrees of misbehavior, you are stopping any chance of progress.
When the very short-sighted senators called on Al to resign, they equated what he was accused of (by republican operatives and anonymous sources) with forced rape, humiliation, and discrimination. When you do that you have called into question the whole movement. If being accused of a butt tap is an offense that calls for the same punishment as provable oppression, then you make a mockery of the women who are truly misused. You weaken your position and call into question your motives.
These Democratic senators have done women a disservice and created joy at steve cannon's Christmas party. They will be the butt of the joke from now on. How can we call on republican congress people to stand up for what is right, when we can' count on our own do do so?
(Oh well. I can think of other things to do with my money than waste it on DLC matters.)
