Yes, shoplifting is indeed a crime. There is a penalty. It is quite minor.
Holding up a bank with automatic machine guns, is also a crime, but a major one.
I heard on this comparison on the radio today by Thom Hartmann.
The police handle the two crimes totally different. We know that. Even the owners of the store, do not handle this like an armed bank robbery. But some Democratic leaders are handling the shoplifting crime, as if it were a bank robbery, where there was a shoot out and people killed.
