And incumbents know this. And given the relative wealth of members of the Senate compared to the general population, the bad things that are happening will affect Senators much less.

All the money in my pocket against all the money in your pocket. If Roy Moore wins in Alabama, there will be NOTHING coming out of the Democratic side of the Senate about it. Mitch McConnell will mouth some crapulous sentiment about the will of the people of the great state of Alabama. The Senate will seat Moore. It will never be mentioned again.

I hope that they have a replacement in mind. The GOP may or may not hold Roy Moore accountable. Dems can call for him to resign all they want, but it has no influence or meaning. Just as republican's calls for Clinton to resign had no influence.
