Wrong to argue we dont need to be better.

(42,641 posts)Franken is a very good Senator, but he is not perfect. No one is. He should not resign.

(42,641 posts)And I would hope that he will decide to stay and fight. If he were not so vocal in the Trump/Russia affair I feel he would never have been targeted at all.

(42,641 posts)Democrats have to learn to fight back or the GOP will laugh as they remake the country.

(15,317 posts)The argument is we don't need to dance to their tune. It helps them to give up on things like ethics investigations. That's actually becoming MORE like them. There's no reason why we can't investigate first. Skipping that step is only caving, not being better.

(36,222 posts)I like Al Franken, but he will no longer be able to serve the people of MN or the party.
Time to accept it and move forward on the correct path.

(15,317 posts)And who made you the arbiter of what serves the people of MN and the party? That's awfully presumptuous.
And no. I will not accept that dumping our good Dems without investigation is the new and correct path forward. That way lies ruin.

(50,285 posts)What if it turns out this was all a set up to get a GOP senate seat in Minnesota? It wouldn't surprise me. Just wait . . . as soon as Al is gone someone else will go on the chopping block from a state the GOP thinks they can pick up a seat.

(50,285 posts)I'm certainly not saying Sherrod is guilty of anything other than a rumpled suit once in awhile. The point is that it doesn't matter if you can convict a person and oust them from office without a thorough investigation. Ohio is pretty red and the Trumphumpers would love another crazy in the Senate.
