But this is the first time I've run into neighbors who are actually out loading up their cars, while I'm out walking the dog. They all say the same thing. They've got young kids. They've been loading all the stuff in, first, and then adding the kids in, last. We're doing that with our animals. Stuff in first. Then the life forms.

Um... there is one thing in all this, that actually gave me a giggle. The fires have driven us to keeping local news on all day, and it's not just for background noise. One of the local stations began a look back at the last time a fire like this happened, in 1961. It was called the Bel-Air Fire. It went all over the Westside, including farther up our street. Some of the neighborhood lore says Richard Nixon lived on our street. So one of the local stations launched its retrospective, and indeed, the tales were true - there was old black-&-white footage of then Vice President Nixon, hosing down his hillside because the fire was coming. And the report named our street! Well whaddya know.

BTW, I live in Central CA and rarely listen to tv news; however, I have been tuning in to local reports to see what's happening down your way.

I hope you have been spared and are doing well.

Made it through the night.

Wind's up, but the loudest and longest focus seems to have shifted to the northwest, where fires are burning in Ventura County and has Santa Barbara in its crosshairs.

Nervously watching the wind, though. It can shift faster than a Democrat can cave on something/anything.

But what is the lead on a broadcast asserts a priority to the story. Always has & always will.

And Rachel tends to stay hard on her lead stories-often well past the 1st quarter of the show.

I turned it off and waited a bit to check-she was on to news that should have had priority.

6:35 and she's back on it-aaaack-there goes my happy thought bubble.

But like many here I rely on her and a less than a handful of other voices to help educate. And giving it top of the broadcast was a tactical mistake.

I'm not trying to deny the importance of the issue. But please remember who we are having a actual war with. And moral high ground will be a hanging tree if we let it.

Why are ONLY DEMOCRATS stepping down???

At first the Senator said there was none, but the Senator said that she called other Senators. Basically there was coordination by the Senators to come out against Franken. The problem in our government is truth.

She stays, if not, say good-bye Rachel "you hugged me too tight and hurted my peewins" Maddow.

Not surprised , she knows how to please her corporate masters. We knew this. Disgusting. Perhaps I should loudly complain she touched my titties, boo hoo - Welp guess we must take all accusations seriously right? Fire her ass.
