Just a few notes to let you know how it went.
It was not publicized till YESTERDAY. We were not expecting him to be able to come to our smaller town, Cullman Al. at all.
There was a full house with young people even sitting on the floor when they ran out of chairs.
Lilly Ledbetter spoke for him followed by Marsha Folsom. Big Jim Folsom was watching.
It was very well organized with large numbers of volunteers waiting at the door to seat you.
Those in charge kept it running smoothly and you could tell they had the whole routine down solid. I don't know if that means DNC involvement, but he had a core of people that had done this routine more than once
Jones was awesome and said everything we could want him to. I felt a hint of Obama's inspiration, but with a Southern drawl. His wife was a home town girl and very genuine. She knows where to get the orange rolls, lol. If he wins, we finally have a great representative for Alabama.
Pray for us of think warm thoughts, whatever you feel most comfortable doing, but we need this now more than ever.

(81,310 posts)And thanks so much for the donation! Hopefully that will help pay for a tank of gas for some volunteer who's making SURE that people go to the polls next Tuesday, by personally driving them there!
Seriously, folks, there are MORE OF US than there are of the bad guys! Just by sheer numbers! If WE all came out to vote, without fail (and CERTAINLY without any mealy-mouthed excuses), we would always win. Simply by the numbers. Because there are MORE OF US than there are of the GOP.

(2,857 posts)I live streamed his whole speech and 2 of my reps on my page watched it all the way through. THAT is progress that they would even watch him.

Our hope is that if Moore wins he is censured and shunned.

Gotta ask: what's an orange roll? Is it a sweet pastry?

Doug Jones sounds like someone ideal for the Senate, but I bet Roy Moore gets 20 times the attention.

(28,798 posts)he delivered a spectacular speech. he was so disgusted that it wasn't covered. i'll have to go look it up because he really raved at how good it was.
i have donated to his campaign for a while now. it distresses me no end that a pervert religious nut will probably win in AL. our country is so sick right now. glad you got to see him!
