Much of the Senate, including Schumer, is against him my guess is he resigns.
I want him to say FU I'm staying.

The discussion with his family is about whether or not they're willing to weather the oncoming storm, since he will have to say, in no uncertain terms, he did nothing untoward and that any actions by him would have been taken wrongly.
To resign is to admit that he is a serial molester. He will not do that.
