These are not ordinary times! We have a Criminal Cabal in power that colluded with an eneny of the USA to steal an election! Whatever personal mistakes Al has made in his life pale compared to the dangers we face!
The scariest thing to me is that so many of our own Democratic Senators DON'T understand the perilous course we are on and have turn on one of their own in an obvious rightwing hit job. Why can't they see what the hell is going on?
DON'T DO IT AL!

(19,962 posts)ethics investigation. Sen Hirono was on with Rachel last night, and couldn't give a proper reason for them all jumping over the cliff now. All she said was the numbers were too many, yet the vast majority were anonymous, and none of them were of a Moore/Trump/Weinstein/CK/Lauer nature.

(2,091 posts)...at the expense of Franken, at the expense of the Senate, at the expense of the voters of Minnesota, and at the expense of the Democratic Party.
All they had to do was present their views to the Senate Investigation.
But....no....have to grand stand.
We've seen this act before......

(36,926 posts)Lynch mobs do not sit well with Democrats. I won't support any of that group during the primaries, but will, of course, vote for the Democratic candidate in the general.

Then they will fight this battle with a wet noodle.

(6,044 posts)As soon as the votes were decided on election, 2016 Schumer, Sanders, and most senators started normalizing. Their roles are laid out for them whether they are in the minority or majority. Republican, Democratic, or Independents--their job is to legislate and there is always legislation waiting to be voted upon.
Franken is a senator who has more vision-but I don't think that endears him to those with less vision who merely want to engage in the legislative give, take, and negotiate process.
We have a power vacuum. should it be filled by a Gillibrand? Six months ago I would say maybe, today I don't think so.
A key player is Schumer. He doesn't see the clear and present danger; he sees an opportunity to get more female Republican to vote Democratic in 2018 because the Democratic senators are backing "womens issues" with a new zero tolerance policy on sexual harassment.
