Franken should change his party affiliation to Independent and allow the process to run its

course. Let the investigations play out. With a sensible process, we will find a fair test case that we can turn around and apply to everyone.

Franken is definitely getting the full brunt of the changing times. But, as the first one through I'm not sure he's getting a fair hearing. I'm not even sure that the Democrats have created a situation for themselves that will have negative repercussions in the future as any politician over the age of twenty now has a past of hammed up photos they need to worry about before deciding to run...as a Democrat.

There has to be a way for the investigation to proceed to determine what he did wrong that deserves being pushed out of the Senate, because YOU KNOW that others did it too. So, let's do this fairly. No one likes politicians who use politics over process.

Without delving into offensive rhetoric.

Thank you and your points are very solid leading to thoughts of a fair process for all.

It also doesn’t negate the court of public opinion which will often not be fair. It’s a process that would impact those opinions over time.

The ethics committee will only investigate allegations that occurred while the person was a member of the Senate.

As far as I know only one of these events is alleged to have happened after he was elected.

The investigation people keep calling for won’t happen. Not without a huge change in the rules for the Senate Ethics Committee. And do you think the Senate will vote to give the ethics committee power to look into their actions and lives for all of them before they became members of the Senate? Fat chance of that happening!

And I don’t think they would because Senators don’t want that precedent that the ethics committee can review their entire life’s history.

And Franken is such a lifelong Democrat I doubt he would ever do this, personally.

If he did, I and many others would be completely supportive of him.

And what you mentioned about anyone over the age of twenty having a past of hammed up photos- yeah think about it. Who the hell doesn't have a past with goofy/dorky photos, maybe an old roommate who was an asshole? Frankly I don't know if I would want someone in office so privileged and dull they have zero spice in their life. (I wouldn't lol)

Besides, the Franken accusations are looking like a big pile of nothingness and anonymous troll bullshit. An investigation would show that, and Franken knows it. That's why he suggested it - he has done nothing wrong.

I am all for it. He is a great politician, and spearhead for Democracy.
Lord knows we need him now.
I am appalled at those crucifying him in light of the Republican atrocities since, well, cheeto drumpf started up his squatting brigade.
I emailed Senator Franken last night with my opinion. Hope he stays.
