Explained his prior statements were out of respect etc, as many here believed.

I posted this yesterday and it sill applies:

This is very much a he said/they said case and there is unlikely to be any hard evidence to prove either side right or wrong.

I don't know what is going behind the scenes or why so many Democratic Senators are suddenly pressuring Franken to resign.

It's possible internal polling is suggesting that the allegations could have a negative impact for the Democratic Party in the 2018 races.

Given the rather lethargic pace at which Congress often proceeds, I can see an inconclusive investigation lasting well into the spring and even early summer. With 8 current accusers and possibly more to arrive in the weeks and months ahead, combined with an investigation that neither proves or disproves the allegations and I can definitely see this has having a negative impact on the 2018 elections among the average voters and quite possibly an extremely negative impact among average WOMEN voters.

i don't think that what i heard he did rose to the level of a resignation. but the dems wouldn't demand that he resign as soon as trump and blake farenthold resign as well as the republicans withdrawal of support from moore and refuse to seat him should he win the election. the dems turned their backs on one of their own before he could receive due process from the ethics committee. it's time we fight fire with fire.

lumping franken in the same boat with moore is an illustration of bad judgement, imo. and i don't believe that this taking of the high road by our politicians is going to yield a damned thing. republicans will only view us as weak and continue their "scorched earth" policy towards us average americans.
