Germany Denounces The United States Under Trump's Leadership, Releases Historic StatementGermany can no longer simply react to U.S. policy but must establish its own position even after Trump leaves the White House, relations with the U.S. will never be the same.
Since taking office, Trump has attacked Germany (one of the United States closest allies) over Iran and North Korea, has denounced their trade surplus with us (even though it was wildly inaccurate) and accused Germany and other allies in NATO of owing vast amounts of money to the United States. We didnt even mention the withdrawal from the Paris Climate Accord, which caused the United States to become the only major country on the planet to not be apart of the deal.

(3,515 posts)He is inept and incapable when it comes to foreign policy. He has no patience for the subtlety and perseverance it requires.
What a fool Trump is.
This is really, really, really bad news. But who can blame Germany?
I sure can't.

(26,060 posts)in a bind. They have a VERY large presence oversea for their International channel. I honestly can't think of one place I've been to outside the US that didn't carry CNN International.

(23,105 posts)I am surprised you still have the Bernie avatar after his unwarranted self-serving attacks on Sen. Franken today. I, personally, have disavowed him and if he runs for president, will support any other Democrat other than him. I don't see how any progressive can support him after he helped repugs steal elections by lying about Dems.

(12,586 posts)I guess Old Donnie Two Scoops was right. He has accomplished something in 10 months that all presidents since FDR haven't done--destroyed America's position as global leader. He has returned us to the isolationism of the 1920s.
And he's too stupid to realize what he's done. All he knows that when it comes to our relationship with Germany and the rest of Europe, he's "won."
