For everybody that's done

It only gets worse from here. Leave if you wish, but understand that your choice now is for done. Just as binary as last year's election was things have become even more so. The Democrats are being stupid beyond stupid not even letting this go to investigation. The moral high ground they are taking will not matter to the voters they are chasing. Those particular voters have no scruples. They have no moral compass direction except fuck the "other" guy. They "do not care" one bit about the moral high ground because they aren't standing on grounded morals at all.

So, back to the original point. We are going to have to keep pushing the leadership from behind. That or replace them completely with those that don't need pushing. What we can't do is throw up hands and walk away because the alternative is worse, a whole lot worse. They are scared that the tide is turning and people are waking up. Look at some of the flips that have happened this year, look at how close some of the special elections have been for seats that have never been up for grabs have been. We gotta keep punching people, more and more of them are landing. Doesn't mean that everything that's being done is right, because some of it isn't. However, what we can't let their dirty tricks sway us. Every man, woman and child is this country, and probably the world, are depending on us not to.

Gotta keep reaching and climbing, doesn't mean we aren't gonna slip every now and then. This is a slip, a great big ugly one, but we have to keep climbing.

I've unfollowed, unsubscribed everyone of them. Twitter, Facebook and my emails that I never look at. I'm done sorry. We won't win with dems like this. We have no chance anyway

We are talking about peoples lives. Life and death for some. I cannot fathom the attitude that this would result in a Democrat, someone who cares about the same issues as I, as done.

Another point. What if the Democratic Party piling on was orchestrated? Doesn't it change things. If Franken said he was stepping down and they decided the leadership would come out tomorrow?What if Franken was not betrayed but it was planned? Does that matter?

and say Dems as shorthand. That's what I mean. I'm not saying I'm just not ever going to vote ever again, or vote Repub. Heavens no. I'm just never going to defend or support the leadership like I have in the past, and I will be far more supportive of primarying their asses.

I meant putting the idea that there people are "done" will influence others (the media) that this is happening. It could become a talking point, it could push the Democratic leadership. Either way, we can't let it lead to reducing voter enthusiasm.

The actions of the last few days have been the final straw is all.

"Oh well, at least the mass shooter didn't say Allahu Ackbar!" is not national security or providing for the common good.

Looking out for your donors isn't in the Constitution.

Making sure people just like them can get access to little blue pills while children are seeing their healthcare cut isn't the general welfare.

The government is at war... with the people who are too poor, too dark skinned, or too liberal for their liking.

This government is unconstitutional, unrepresentative, and should be declare illegitimate by the American people.

While I wish Franken would have let this go to investigation, perhaps there is a reason he didn’t that we don’t know. Two of the Senators calling for his resignation Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell are my senators from Washington state and I’m certainly not abandoning them. I’ve read their statements. I know their work, and I guarantee the Democratic Party needs them right where they are. If people are going to leave, I hope they do it soon.

I expected something like this to happen the moment #metoo became a hashtag. That we equivocate the moment a movement becomes challenging is to be expected. Franken took a fall in an atmophere attempting to call attention to a problem of behavior while simultaneously setting standards to behavior that has been present for millennia—not just decades. This isn’t new, this is ancient. (That’s not to say people haven’t “evolved”—they have) Franken, whatever the truth of extent of his behavior, did the right things, requested an inquiry, apologized, reisigned when his peers, many his FRIENDS asked him to. (Unless he’s playing a larger game, sacrificing himself in a very bold political move, which I wouldn’t put past him) even his resignation speech cannot be ignored for its political power.

So no, I’m not done. I do wish the resignation of Conyers brought about as much angst. But of course it didn’t
