Roger Stone coaches a right wing woman who is a birther to blow up an event to massive proportions and accuse one of the strongest Trump critics of what is basically a low level misconduct. She said/He said. More anonymous accusers come forward. None willing to face the man they accuse, each with other allegations of low level misconduct.
BOOM
Democrats make decisions (panic or strategic?) that he has to go. And there you have it. A political death sentence for what is a relatively minor offense.
There is no comparison between Franken and Trump. Between Franken and Moore.
I actually DO get that he had become a potentially dangerous distraction. I actually DO get that, politically, there could be more to gain by his going than by his staying.
But back to the basic point. This was Roger Stone and his merry band of dirty tricksters doing what they do. And if you want to assign a winner and a loser, right now, they won. It remains to be seen if, in the long run, they win or the Democrats do. If history tells us the future, I am afraid they will win.
