2. Exactly how I feel

I've been walking in circles for the last hour. Really don't know whether to cry or scream. Trying hard to resist throwing things.

3. Things are not looking so good.

I’ve been a registered Democrat for 48 years, and things have never looked as bleak as they do right now. I no longer have much faith in my party; they shy away from confronting the real monsters, and instead, they squabble and turn on themselves, which only feeds the right-wing Republican beast.

This is NOT a winning formula when fascism is rapidly taking over the United States.

4. The only hope I can find...

Is that I have never thought of life as being meaningless. I do think there is a point to living. I know I can't prove that, but I feel that there is.

I could have been born a cockroach instead of Dave Starsky. But cockroaches have tough lives, too. I think every living thing sees an arc in their existence. We start out with good times and then they go down to bad times. That is inevitable.

It seems like I have been expecting something like our current situation to happen my entire life. I also think that I have been prepared, in some weird way, to deal with it. You have, too.

One day, we are all tested. That test is coming. You're going to do okay.

I do not know if the Democratic Party leadership knows how to lead a fight. They give up ground all of the time.
