but I feel that I encountered a fair amount of hostility here as a newbie. Thought of quitting many times. I need this place, though. And would like to know how to tell.

I am ready to quit the party today but in a few days will probably recover.

Many are feeling this way, not just the bots!

I was hoping to get back in today to clean out the fridge and freezer (ew), and to help hubby water the hotspots in the yard. You don't really see them, but they steam and sizzle when you hose them over. However, the wind is up again today, and the fire dept has a justifiable fear that embers might rise up again, so they've barricaded the area off.

I wish I could retrieve some more treasures, but that would necessitate a U-Haul and there would be no place to store anything here anyway.

My little grandson who just got out if the NICU had to return because the air is so foul. Best place for him just now, tho it distresses his mom very much.

This monster has grown to 96,000 acres and counting, and the family next door to where we are staying has taken in two more families into their house. One of our neighbors got evacuated twice. Christmas parties are getting canceled, because of uncertainty, foul air, and freeway closures.

Still, we are lucky.

The bad news is it's awful for others and it's the worse time of the year for such a disaster.
