If it happened during the campaign she would have been immediately denounced as a liar and a secret-keeper. There would have been calls for her to drop out of the race.

If it happened while she was president there would have been immediate calls for her resignation. If she didn't resign there would be efforts undertaken to impeach her.

The stumble was fodder for wild speculation for weeks that Hillary Clinton was concealing some dire medical condition, was about to die, etc., etc. Naturally, it had to be afforded a lot of attention in the popular media because the story was out there, and even if it was a load of manure, it had to be gone over very thoroughly by millionaire commentators who wouldn't believe it was manure until they'd handled it, smelled it, and tasted it for themselves.
