I suspect there are a lot of unhappy Democrats today,
and we need all the strength and support we can muster ahead of 2018 and 2020.
And I fear Senator Franken's resignation may energize the GOP base.
I feel lost today, and sad.

Schumer and his colleagues decided that Franken should be punished - not for wrongdoing, but for being accused of wrongdoing.
Franken was given no hearing before the ethics committee, no opportunity to give his side of the story, and without an investigation that he himself requested be done.
He has denied the allegations, and was hung out to dry by the very people who should have had his back.
People are outraged, disgusted, and many are vowing to cut off their usual contributions to the Democratic party.
The best the Dems can hope for right now is that party members will have cooled-off by the time they're asked for donations leading up to next year's midterms.
