When MN voters elect a new senator in a special election (2018, I believe)?
By doing so, he would be letting state voters decide just as GOPers say those of Alabama should get to decide about Moore.
Also, perhaps by the time of the election, the truth will have come out about any false accusations and Al can somehow redeem himself regarding the real accusations.

(5,455 posts)While there is nothing that prevents him from running again, the allegations are still out there and would impact any potential campaign.
Unfortunately, the majority of average voters are going to view his initial statement and his resignation as an admission of guilt and because the allegations are essentially a He said/They said, being able to definitively disprove the allegations will be almost impossible.

There are only 50 Governors in this country. It is a more elite club than the US Senate.
