Gingrich, Ingraham: Dems speaking out against Franken a lynch mob

Fox News's Laura Ingraham and former Speaker Newt Gingrich late Wednesday referred to the Democrats speaking out against Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) as a "lynch mob."

Ingraham said on her Fox News show that Democrats who are calling on Franken to step down amid sexual misconduct allegations have come down with a "sudden case of feverish morality."

when piling on Franken.

Worse, they are going to use this to make themselves look superior when they fail to condemn Moore and Trump for alleged behavior far more serious than Franken's.

We gave them this opening.

I abhor Moore and Trump. There is no equivalence between them and Franken. But their best defense is to attack Dems for forcing Franken's resignation without an investigation.

If the best they can do is to argue Democratic senators pressured a Democratic senator to resign over inappropriate touching while they countenance the seating of a Republican child rapist that's an argument I'm willing to have.

BTW where was the due process for

Russell Simmons
Ben Affleck
Dustin Hoffman
Kevin Spacey
Harold Ford
John Conyers
Trent Franks
et cetera

Due process means the government can't deprive you of your liberty or take away your property without following Constitutionally mandated procedure. It doesn't mean you can't mean lose your job or status for bad acts ,real or perceived.

Lets set up a scenario where this was a republican hit job from the beginning. I don't know if it was or wasn't and now we never will.

For arguments sake lets say it was.

If it was they can now expose those accusations as false because they set them up. They don't need to admit to setting them up they can just expose them as fake.

This would give credibility to all the accusations that Trump and Moore are just victims of political opportunity. Look the democrats fell for a bunch of made up charges lets not be as stupid.

Set em up and knock em down.

Because Dems once again eschewed the hard fight for the easy platitudes we have ensured there will be no justice either for the accused or the accusers and have left the door wide open for all sorts of speculation instead.

How did we leap from the argument which is the topic of this thread, that Republican voters will be sending a child rapist to the Senate and Republican senators will countenance it to a discussion of due process ?

When the shit hit the fan for GOP members, don’t be a “ lynch mob” like those crazy Dems.

That’s how we lose Franken and they keep Moore and trump.

When we go after Moore after he is elected next week they were going to say what about Franken. Now we can say a Democratic senator resigned over inappropriate touching of an adult (s) while a Republican child rapist resfues to resign.

And the supposed "worst" offense was dealt with at the very beginning.
I just think franked should have stuck to his guns and stayed put. If they kept pressuring him, he could bring up those who have done far worse than he did & ask why no one is calling for THEM to resign.
I think it may very well be a calculated call on the part of the leading Dems, knowing that Minn has a Dem governor to pick his replacement. But that doesn't guarantee a win in 18, and Franken wasn't even up till '20
I just think its ridiculous

Whether or not Franken's resignation was justified he resigned. The Republicans are stuck with a child rapist in their caucus.

Comparing Franken to Pedo Moore is like comparing a kid who shoplifts a bag of potato chips from 7-11 with a man who uses a gun to rob a liquor store. We all get that. However that wasn't going to stop the Deplorables from using him to muddy the waters.

Senator Pedo Moore is a " big f--king deal" the GOP now has to deal with no place to hide.
