Democrats are distracted from an existential threat to our democracy.

There is a plot afoot to shut down the Russia investigation. The truth is to be covered up and hidden forever.

Rather than fire Robert Mueller, the Special Prosecutor, they will simply shut off all the money for the investigation.

It is a deliberate plot by FOX News, talk radio, and Republican members in the Congress, led by the Freedom Caucus. Their goal is to not get to the truth but to cover up the likely crimes of the Trump Administration. The recent guilty pleas have created an urgency amongst this group of conspiracists and propagandists.

The recent wave of resignations and retirements from Congress is the perfect distraction. It is an important issue - very important - but it is not about the survival of our democracy.

Democrats need to focus on saving this investigation and protecting Mueller from this onslaught of attacks from the Trump White House and his allies. They need to get on the stick.
