So, I'm forced to focus on more mundane issues today:

Last night, I got a call telling me that my 93-year-old mother is in the hospital due to chest pain. The doctors aren't all that concerned, I'm told, so she'll probably be OK, but at 93, life's tenuous at best.

This morning, I learned that my parent's citrus and avocado farm is under a mandatory evacuation order, due to the Thomas fire. My father, who is 93, is likely to tell them to screw off and start the irrigation sprinklers on the avocado area of the farm. However, he will probably leave to check on Mom, and may not be allowed to return to the place.

The mountain across the road from their farm is burning. I watched video of that this morning, too. I'm in Minnesota, so there's not a lot I can do, and it's too early in the morning there to start calling people. My brother-in-law, is a retired firefighter, who is probably out on the fire line acting as assistant chief for the local volunteer FD, so calling him probably isn't a good idea.

Anyhow, our national political emergency and other issues are probably going to have to wait. I'm good at multitasking, but not that good.

Keep an eye on things, folks. I'll be back later.

to save lives..Hoping for the best MM for your family -

Afa mundane issues - I have to say..I have been saddened by the mundane issues presented by some here at DU...I'm not savvy enough to be able to identify the Russian bots..or any other bots for that matter - Malaise has her eye out from what I read..but I do recognize BS when I see it..many posts seem to be trying to goad us into distrust of our own party..rather than supporting each other..

I have chosen not to comment on most of the conjecture or RW talking points..instead...will sit on the sidelines..

Afa as your decision to stay or go - you are one of just a few here at DU I trust..so many DU posters of old, have been quiet.....maybe they are as fed up by what seems to be rw infiltration here..just sayin'

Be well MM...peace...wherever we can find it these days...
