Interview with Puerto Ricans who were displaced on the mainland on MSNBC.
It is interesting. Husband and wife were interviewed and I believe there was an incorrect translation. The husband did all the talking, until the end. Did a very good job of explaining their plight. They are doing their best and the husband is interviewing for work. He pointed out that he was over-qualified for the first job he interviewed for, and the second one is still going through the process.
Stephanie Ruhle asked if they would go back to Puerto Rico and this is the only question that the wife responded to. She spoke in Spanish and I could have sworn she said, "En un minuto." Translated, "In a minute." The husband and a third person in the interview did not translate properly. Hurriedly they said that Puerto Rico still has problems that will be long-standing so it will be a while.
So, this demonstrates a problem for our Puerto Rican refugees: How can they get solid work on the Mainland if their employers think that they will be returning to the island?
What a dilemma.
