I haven't heard one person on cable pointing out that African American families were torn apart

during slavery in response to Roy Moore's racist shit about America being great during slavery because families were united. What about African American families you fucking racists?

While they continue to normalize this shit, I'm not seeing condemnation.

It's that whole "moral high ground" thing. Because, it's always worked out so well in the past. Hillary only won the election because when they went low, we went high.

they were discussing it a few moments ago, mentioning Moore's comment about how slavery was good for families and how the country as a whole had direction back in the day.

Beyond the pale was the general consensus.

All agreed that there's no way Republicans unring this bell. Actually, there's no way Republicans drown out the megaphone of racist garbage circulating in Trump/Bannon world. Steve King proudly announced today or yesterday that diversity is not this country's strength.

It really is a cult terrified of future demographics; they dream of that perfect world where those in power were exclusively landed white men. People of color, women and anyone with an eye to the future need not apply.

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down...

Ya take what ya need and ya leave the rest
But they should never have taken the very best..

So the South was upset they lost a war to keep humans in bondage, but now whine that their wealth built on the back of slaves is being taken, When if perhaps, the South had left "the very best in Africa", there wouldn't have had a war.

I get angry every time I hear it,

I’m certainly not one of them, but our history books have been so whitewashed over the past 30+ years that many people today do not even know our past. A reputable publisher described slaves as immigrants from Africa who came to this country to work! In a high school history book, no less! Some people seem to think that slaves had a good life because their masters housed and fed them! Some of you may have read the Huffington Post article earlier this week on our tax dollars going to charter religious schools, most of whom do not use real textbooks from legitimate sources like Pearson or McGraw, but from extremist religious companies that present all history in light of their own bias for white people being perfect. We are already seeing a population of young people who have no understanding of how the past has led us today or even of our role in the world. If we do not fight this nonsense, we will soon have nothing but fantasy world in this country.

Why I am soooooo surprised...NOT!!!! Not here, not there, not anywhere in trumps ameriKKKa will we EVER find statements related to your statement OP of fact. One of the major reasons for AA self punishment through ameriKKKan 'evolution' of society is because of the Slavery's Era's extreme cruelty in the example you gave and have no doubt, ameriKKKa's slavery was/is one of the most barbarous forms of human degradation and forced subservience EVER, perpetrated by a race that has never been superior to anyone.

And we now have one of the most egregious, ugliest examples of that 'racial superiority' in the fact of that idiot fool posing as a president, that at the least 66 MILLION ameriKKKan men and women wanted, while his underlings destroy our so-called democracy and that is actively trying to reinstate segregationist(AG sessions)procedure and thought in ameriKKKa.

And it is fact, that in recorded history, ameriKKKa's forced bondage of other human beings is one of the atrocious, inhuman and vicious examples of human degradation and forced bondage in recorded history. And the aftermath of our Slavery Era is now, still, generations later, on display for the whole world to see, as a excellent example of white racial/racist superiority in it's continuing consequence for people with noticeable melanin in their skin, WORLDWIDE. Racism is alive and very well in ameriKKKa this holiday and everyday.

Thank you for a reminder that this season is NOT happy for everyone.
