In a panel discussion of Alabama voters discussing GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore, one man contended that their state was a different world when the former judges accusers claimed he dated them when they were teens and he in his 30s.
Forty years ago in Alabama, it was a different world, one man said in a documentary by Vice News Tonight, claiming his grandmother was married at 13 and had children and a job by age 15.
If Roy Moore was guilty, he continued, forty years ago in Alabama, theres a lot of mamas and daddies thatd be thrilled that their 14-year-old was getting hit on by a district attorney.

No parent thought it was ok. I grew up in Westchester county, all variety of humans.
Still nope. Now broke people, who want to use their daughter has a broodmare, to claim some funds to get that outside porch was not a Northern thing.

(42,567 posts)I was 14 years old in 1977 in a small town in Texas and it would not have been acceptable for a man in his 30s to hit on me or any of my classmates. I'm not saying it never happened, and maybe Alabama was more backwards than the town I grew up in, but it was NOT a societal norm of the time.
