Many are driven to madness as the virus takes total control of their minds. Others are driven to depression as they frantically search for a cure.
The virus has one goal, Absolute control of its victims. The virus does not directly destroy its victims, it drives its victims to destroy themselves and others.
This same virus infected Germany in the 1930s. It spread throughout the entire population. Most of the German people were driven to madness. Some Germans tried to kill the virus. They were unsuccessful.
Only after Germany was laid to ruin, Millions of German deaths, millions of German women raped, the original host killed did the virus finally lose its grip on the German people. It ran out of hosts.
Trump is the original host of the virus. He has spread the virus throughout America. No one can predict how much farther this virus will spread or how much damage it will cause. I believe we will find out by this time next year. 2018 may be a year the American people will never forget. Will we destroy the virus or will we fail like the German people?

(115,748 posts)Dolt 45's approval ratings have been steadily decreasing - he's getting closer and closer to Nixon territory. He will always have a hard-core base of 25-30%, just like Nixon did even after Watergate. But because SCROTUS plays only to his base he's not doing a very good job of spreading his virus.
The problem isn't so much with the knuckleheads who still love his ugly orange ass; it's with the GOPers in Congress who know what a soulless moral slagheap he is but still support him because they want those tax cuts.

(4,379 posts)You have to look at what the American people are doing as a whole. You have to look at what happens in the upcoming elections. Many people don't like how Trump acts so they may disapprove in a poll, but they agree with what he is doing policy wise. They don't care when Trump trashes the constitution and the law.
It's not just Trumps base that has the virus.

(52,259 posts)Sarah palin was our first national introduction to the virus. Only capable (barely) of regurgitating partisan talking points. Lies and insults and principles.
No critical analysis, no apologies, no compromise. Primitive appeals to tribalism. Fear, greed, and hate.
There have been and are many others.
Donnie is not fundamentally different from many if not most republican leaders these days. Hes merely more of the same stuff. Amped up. Steroids.
Ok maybe steroids doesnt fit so well with the virus concept, but you get the idea...

(4,379 posts)Look at all the things Trump has done and said since he announced he was running for president. He has never paid a price for any of it. Thats the Unnatural virus and it's not just his base that is infected.
If the republicans hold congress next year that will give Trump and the republicans a mandate. They will be embolden. The virus may completely take over.

(4,379 posts)This was an incredible insult to the civil rights movement and Trump did not pay a price. The virus affects everyone in different ways.

(4,379 posts)Will Trump pay a price after The Mueller investigation?
He hasn't paid a price for anything yet. That is not normal.

(4,379 posts)We have set up our selfs up for a big fall. Thats what this virus does. It could be a war, it could be an economic collapse. The people know something is wrong but they don't fix it. One day it may be to late.
Right now all of us are counting on one person to kill the virus, Mueller. What happens if he fails?

(115,748 posts)He is not kind to people; he just flatters them when he thinks it will benefit him. He is said to have no real friends, just sycophants and hangers-on. He does not like animals. He pays no attention to his young child and didn't do any of the "dad" things for the others when they were kids. He thinks nothing of cruelly insulting anyone who disagrees with him or displeases him - in fact, insulting and demeaning others seems to be one of his favorite things. He can't stand it when others are more successful or well-liked or even when they get more publicity. He lies constantly, even when there's no particular reason to lie. He is an enormous black hole of emotional need. I can't think of anything good to say about him. He's not nice, he's not kind, he has no sense of humor, he doesn't seem to love anyone, he doesn't like music, art, nature, or any of the other things that most people derive pleasure or inspiration from; his claims to religious belief are phony and only to appease voters; he admires despots; he demands loyalty but doesn't reciprocate.
The last president I disliked intensely was GW Bush, and I still don't like him any more than I ever did. But W has at least a few positive characteristics - he seems to love his children and his wife; he has pets whom he seems to care for; he enjoys art; and he has occasionally displayed a sense of humor. In other words, even if he was a colossal fuckup as a president, he seems to be an actual human being. 45 doesn't even seem to be human.
Some have called SCROTUS the Antichrist. I don't think he's that, but only because I don't believe such a being exists. But "Antichrist" operates well as a kind of shorthand or metaphor for someone who has no goodness in their soul. If Christ (depending on what you believe) is an example of perfect goodness, or even just a metaphor for it, then Antichrist works for Trump. I think he's one of the very rare people who are really bad to the bone.

(63,221 posts)I completely agree with everything you have written, even about George W. Bush. I couldn't stand him either, but it pales in comparison to the hatred I feel toward Trump. At least Bush has some human qualities. Trump is completely devoid of any decency or humanity. He is the most contemptible person on the planet as far as I am concerned.

(4,750 posts)Agree with you about GWB, up to a point. The mere fact that he wasn't quite as soulless an asshole as Trump allowed him to steal the presidency and take us into needless war, where we committed atrocities.
It frightened me that he could get his dick-waving war of choice, and as soon as our soldiers died for his wish to be a "war president," my heart broke.
And it continues to break every time I have to hear about Mr. Perpetual Brush-Cleare going on bike rides with servicemembers maimed for his vanity.

(115,748 posts)It's just that I, and probably a lot of other people, thought a worse president really couldn't ever be possible, and we all breathed a huge sigh of relief when Obama was elected. But where W was an arrogant fool who wanted to be a "war president" for reasons best known only to him, Trump has turned out to be a monster.

(111,104 posts)He has been like a virus. Very unhealthy for everyone. If anyone ever needed impeached or kicked out of office, it is he. Then he should be "quarantined".
